Hey howdy hey! I hope you brought your appetite to read this blog post because today I’m sharing the very best snacks at Animal Kingdom; particularly, the best snack in each land! I’m a hugeeee Disney foodie. In fact, I think eating might be my favorite activity in Disney World! So, if you’re looking for some fantastic snacks for your next Walt Disney World vacation, you’ve come to the right place! Let’s get to it!
Oasis
This is the very first land you’ll find at Animal Kingdom. In fact, many people forget it’s a land entirely as it doesn’t have any “headliner” attractions. Technically, this land starts from the parking lot and ends at the bridge before Discovery Island.
In Oasis, there are only two locations to purchase food and beverage. The first is Joffrey’s Coffee Cart and the other is Rainforest Cafe, a Table Service Restaurant. Both are outside the entrance to the theme park.
Since Joffrey’s Coffee cart is the only snack location, we’re looking at pastries, donuts, and various coffees. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of sweet breakfast pastries, so because of that, my choice for the best snack in Oasis is a bit controversial. I’m going with a cold brew!
Joffrey’s Cold Brew
I know what you’re thinking; can coffee really count as a snack? It’s a beverage! Well, I beg to differ; I wholeheartedly count coffee as a snack! I usually go for any seasonal cold brews if they’re being offered. Otherwise, cold brew with vanilla is a classic! Simply keep in mind that the cold brews at Joffrey’s do not come with sugar or milk, so if you want those, you’ll need to ask for it when ordering! For more information on the Joffrey’s locations at Animal Kingdom, check out this post!
I love to pick up my coffee and head to the paths between the tapstiles and the entrance to Discovery Island. There are so many unique animals you can spot in this area. I love to “get lost” roaming the paths and sipping on my coffee!

Discovery Island
Moving right along on our tour of the best snacks at Animal Kingdom, we’ve arrived at Discovery Island. This is the area surrounding the tree of life and there are so many great options here for snacks. Discovery Island is known to have multiple various snack huts so-to-speak around the Tree of Life, including Eight Spoon Cafe, The Smiling Crocodile, Isle of Java, Creature Comforts (Starbucks), Terra Treats, and Nomad Lounge.
While I absolutely love the pulled pork mac & cheese at Eight Spoon Cafe and the street tacos from The Smiling Crocodile, for the best Animal Kingdom snack in Discovery Island, you must head to Nomad Lounge!
I know this post is about snacks and not environments, but I firmly believe every Disney World vacation needs relaxing moments, and Nomad Lounge is by far my favorite spot in Animal Kingdom for a relaxing moment. The outdoor patios, the cozy couches, the background music, I don’t think the atmosphere could be any better! In fact, this is one of my husband and I’s favorite spots for a Disney date because we love the atmosphere and food so much!
And now, for the snack! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I’m already breaking my own rules because I simply can’t pick between the two best snacks here at Nomad Lounge, the Tiffins Bread Service, and the Churros!
Tiffins Bread Service
Don’t confuse this with Sanaa’s Bread Service because they’re very different, but who doesn’t love a plate of bread?! The Tiffins Bread Service comes with three different kinds of bread, including the fantastic Brazilian cheese bread you can find at the Food and Wine festival at EPCOT! In addition, there are three dipping sauces to sample, a coconut curry sauce, a guava sauce (my favorite), and a ginger pear chutney. Tiffins Bread service is the perfect Animal Kingdom snack if you’re looking to share too! You really can’t go wrong with this item!
Churros
This is one of Nomad Lounge’s most popular items, and for good reason! If you’re looking for a warm, buttery sweet treat, look no further than the churros! You get a small basket of churros along with a vanilla crema and strawberry-guava sauce for dipping. They come out fresh and warm, and just about melt in your mouth once you dip it into the sauces! If you’re a fan of sweet treats, don’t miss out on the churros during your Disney World vacation!

Pandora – The World of Avatar
After leaving Nomad Lounge, we’re stopping right next-door to Pandora – The World of Avatar. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, trust me, you need to see Pandora. Pandora is home to two of the most popular attractions and one of the best quick service restaurants on property, but today we’re making a stop at Pongu Pongu, Pandora’s snack hut!
There are so many yummy bites here, and I love that it even offers breakfast items for after you finish rope dropping Avatar Flight of Passage! However, my favorite snack at Pongu Pongu is served later in the day; it’s the Na’vi-sized Pretzel!
Na’vi-sized Pretzel
It’s no secret around here that my absolute favorite snack to get at Disney World is a warm pretzel! This pretzel puts those dry Mickey pretzels to shame! First, it’s absolutely giant, making it the perfect shareable Animal Kingdom snack. While I’m usually a pretzel hoarder, this is even too much for me to eat! Second, it comes with the most delectable, warm beer cheese for dipping, and they don’t shy on the salt either!
It’s shameful to say, but the beer cheese is so delicious that when we finish the pretzel, my husband and I are known to dip our fingers into the cheese container to ensure we finish every last drop of that liquid amazingness. Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, it’s our secret now! I know I’m being dramatic, but this is by far the best of the snacks at Animal Kingdom, and quite possibly on my list of top 5 snacks on property.

Africa
It’s onward and upward for snacks at Animal Kingdom! Next, we’re headed to Africa! I love this land! The entertainment, the trails, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and so many incredible details can be found in the heart of Africa. Some of the most popular snacks in Africa include the Dole Whip at Tamu Tamu Refreshments, as well as the Grilled Corn on the Cob with African Spices from Harambe Fruit Market. However, I wouldn’t personally call either of these the best Animal Kingdom snack in Africa. Instead, I’m arguing that the Marinated Chicken Flatbread from Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery is the best and worth trying on your Disney World vacation!
Marinated Chicken Flatbread
This is one of my husband’s favorite snacks at Animal Kingdom, and once you see it, it’s easy to tell why! It’s so much food for the price; it’s actually pretty surprising, considering theme park food is known to be overpriced! This could easily be a meal, or it’s the perfect snack size if you share, which is how we usually enjoy it.
When it comes to the taste, there’s so much going on in the best way! It comes with marinated chicken topped with cucumber-tomato salad, tahini sauce, and greens. It’s even served with seasoned house-made chips. The flatbread is the perfect mix of flavors and textures, and the chips have a perfect, baked crunch to them that I love! If you’re looking for a budget snack during your Disney World vacation, this truly is the way to go!

Asia
Next up, Asia! This land is definitely well known for its thrills! Here, you can find Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. I’m too much of a wimp for either of those, so while my husband is on Expedition Everest, I love to grab Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries from Mr. Kamal’s and look for all the hidden details that enrich this land!
Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries
This is a very well-known Animal Kingdom snack, and I’m going with the people on this one! These aren’t just any fries, no, they are the skinny, crispy French fries you know and love, but with an amazing added twist! Mr. Kamal doesn’t skimp on the seasonings, which are the perfect blend of spice without heat. Then, you dip the fries in the siracha mayonnaise, and it’s chef’s kiss, perfection! I’m telling you, the sauce is just the finishing touch you need on these fries!

DinoLand U.S.A.
We’ve made it to our last food tour stop for best snacks at Animal Kingdom; DinoLand U.S.A. Welcome to the quirky side of Animal Kingdom! This land is overflowing with hidden nods and intricate details; it’s one of my favorite areas to take it slow and just explore. It’s such a nostalgic area too, so it’s no wonder it’s beloved by many! There are a few spots to grab a quick bite here, but my favorite is Dino-Bite Snacks for arguably the best DinoLand sweet snack, the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich.
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich
If you’re coming to Dino-Bite Snacks for a classic Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich (you know, the one with the vanilla ice cream wedged between two soft, thin chocolate cookies), then you’ll be disappointed. Instead, think back to the classic, homemade Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich your mom used to make you as a kid to cool off during the summertime… I can’t think of anything better! This ice cream sandwich is Häagen-Dazs® vanilla ice cream wedged between two freshly made, classic chocolate chip cookies. It’s huge, definitely shareable, and the perfect way to cool off!
We love to grab one of these in the afternoon when we’re ready for a break from all the rides and the sun, and slowly enjoy our ice cream cookie sandwich on the covered side patio, taking our time and enjoying the atmosphere. I will say, this is a messy eat, so be sure to grab plenty of napkins!
