5 Reasons to Love Disney’s Main Street, U.S.A.

As I sit here in my living room writing, I am filled with all the warm and fuzzies thinking about one of my favorite lands in all of the Walt Disney World Resort, Main Street, U.S.A. Time after time, I have witnessed family after family and couple after couple come into Magic Kingdom, pass the train station, take 30 seconds to marvel at the castle, grab a quick photo, and move right on to the next land on their itinerary. This makes me so sad! I’m telling you; Main Street, U.S.A. is one of the most underrated lands in all of Magic Kingdom, and it’s my mission today to convince you to plan some time here on your next Magic Kingdom itinerary! Here are 5 Reasons to Love Disney’s Main Street, U.S.A. Enjoy!

Main Street, U.S.A. Encompasses All the Senses

The minute I round the train station, one of the very first things I always notice is the marvelous smell of popcorn! It is absolutely irresistible, and my husband has to fight me not to get in line for a box of popcorn every single time we enter the park. Then, as you make your way farther down Main Street, the sweet, sweet smell of cotton candy floods your nostrils and suddenly you’re five years old again enjoying your first cotton candy at the Fulton County Fair. It’s impossible not to feel instantly happy smelling all the incredible scents on Main Street! That’s not all though! Pay attention, and you can hear the horseshoes on the concrete as the horses come down the center of the street. Feel the soft hub grass on Main Street too, it’s such a cozy place to relax after a long day on your feet! Take a look at the stunning castle and see the sights of the turn of the century buildings and décor! One of my favorite past times is looking at all the windows in the buildings on Main Street, as every window on Main Street, U.S.A. is a subtle nod to Disney’s history. Lastly, I cannot even begin to touch on all the lovely snacks you can taste while at Main Street! More on this later!

One of the Best Lands to Relax

Main Street, U.S.A. has my heart because it is one of the very best lands you can visit for some relaxing! Grab a coffee from the Main Street Bakery or a Mickey Ice-Cream Bar and explore all the hidden areas to people watch! One of the sneakiest places can be found just before the Crystal Arts shop; it’s a side street with the cutest tables and picnic benches! When you’re looking to get away from the busyness of the park, this is just the serene escape you need. Another fan-favorite is the hub grass. You can’t go wrong here, as it’s such a relaxing place to catch some sun rays and enjoy Mickey’s Magical Friendship Fair castle show!

Merchandise Options Are Endless

Need a souvenir? The Emporium has you covered. Need a romantic anniversary gift? Uptown Jewelers is the place to be. Looking for a classic caramel apple? The Confectionary is your go-to! Just about anything you find yourself wanting to purchase can be found on Main Street, U.S.A.! I love shopping on Main Street as my last activity of the day because it’s right before the exit, and this way you don’t have to lug around heavy merchandise bags through the attractions.

Classic Entertainment

If you are into street-mosphere, you must spend some time at Main Street, U.S.A.! The Dapper Dans are a classic barbershop quartet singing your Disney favorites, the trolley show includes some incredible dance numbers (and a must-see if you’re a Hello Dolly fan), and there are no bad viewing areas on Main Street for the Cavalcades! The Cavalcades are a fantastic way to catch your favorite Disney characters during your trip.

So Many Food Options

Another reason to love Main Street, U.S.A. is for all the incredible dining options! Crystal Palace is my go-to table service dining at Magic Kingdom. Who doesn’t love classic American staples, the best mac & cheese at Disney, and getting to visit with Winnie the Pooh and his friends?! Seriously, the characters are so cute here, plus, it’s buffet style, so you can load up on all your favorites! When it comes to quick service at Magic Kingdom, you’ll always find me at Casey’s on the Corner enjoying the corn dog nuggets. You must add them to your Magic Kingdom Food Wish-List if you’ve never tried them and be sure to pay extra for the cheese sauce. You’ll thank me later!
